Last month, my little man had the exciting privilege of attending his FIRST Cubs game!!!! He was beside himself, and thoroughly enjoyed all the festivities. At the end of the game though, when he asked daddy if they could sing the "happy song" again, Bobby explained that you only sing it twice if they win, and since they didn't win, no one was going to be singing that song.
On the way home Cai says to cousin Jimmy "did you have a good time at the Cubs?" To which Jimmy replied "I did, did you have a good time?" And Cai said "No, they didn't win." Thus, the life of a Cubs fan...the disappointment starts so young :)
But, he got to eat a ballpark hot dog, so the day wasn't a total bust...

Yes, I have a life-long fan for a husband who grew up with the disappointment as well. As did his father. And his father.
And now our sons will also know the disappointment that comes with being a cubs fan.
It's a bitter pill. Lol.
