Our FIRST Christmas tradition...

I've been thinking about family traditions a lot in the past few months, and sadly, we didn't really have any. So, starting this year, every Christmas Eve we are going to make and decorate a birthday cake for Jesus...and then on Christmas morning (as if presents aren't awesome enough!) we are going to eat birthday cake for BREAKFAST!!!!!!!! Now, I'm hoping you bought into the whole "I really wanted to come up with a solid tradition for my family"...but the truth is, I just wanted a reason to eat cake for breakfast! Seriously tho, Christmas is about Christ, and too often He is forgotten! ;0(

So, after I frosted the cake, I set it in front of Cai to decorate it and he says "THANK YOU MOMMY...I need a fork please" LOL

p.s.-I realize its not the most "professional" looking cake...but it was made with nothing but tube frosting, sprinkles, and Ziploc baggies! (I realized as I was putting the cake in the oven that ALL my decorating supplies are in the storage shed.....whoops)

So what are your traditions?

We sit down on Christmas Eve a half hour before bed and read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas... then we put cookies and milk out for Santa. The kids love it. Most years we try to take a drive around town to look at the Christmas lights before all of this, but it doesn't always happen due to mother nature.
