Gambling isn't a problem if you win a lot.......

I'm not a big bar person ESPECIALLY on New Years, plus I don't drink, so instead I decided to partake in one of my favorite activities (no...not knitting)....gambling! A texas hold em' tournament takes place every week in my family, but on holidays, there is nearly double the participants. Which means 2 things...
1) TONS of food
2) HUGE payouts

This year, Bobby and I were brave enough to host this tournament...on New Years, and we had a blast!!!!!!!! There were so many people that we had to have two tables, 1 upstairs in my brother-in-law's apartment, and 1 downstairs in ours (thank goodness for walkie talkies!)

So how did I do? Well...the tournament pays the final four players...I placed 5th...UGH! But, Bobby got 2nd, which meant, we made a nice little chunk! Hooray!
Even so we played for nearly 8 hours (these tournaments take a LONG time with so many people), we still had a blast, and so did the kids!

Look how somber everyone looks...we take this poker very seriously! lol

PS-if you are my friend and an officer of the law...please forget you read this post...thank ya kindly! ;0)

Awww, that looks like a ton of fun! My family likes to gamble too, but we play for MUCH higher stakes than money - we play for chores. You know, I win, so I get to delegate taking out the trash duty to - - -. Great fun, and much, much more snarky, lol!
