This morning, I am just praying for the election. The electoral process was never meant to be a popularity contest. I am praying that people vote on ISSUES! Not on race, and not on gender, but on the issues that our country will face for the next four years. Our country is at such a crossroads and it's going to take some hard work to get us out, so I'm also praying for our next president, that they will be able to successfully turn this country around!
I met and heard Sarah Palin's pastor speak this weekend, and he was awesome! (I forgot to post that in my weekend trip post lol). Anyway, those of you that know me know I'm a hard core republican, and I support their platform! I've watched the debates, I've researched their stances, and I'm voting based on issues that are important to me (ie: abortion, taxes, the war, healthcare, etc.).
But I'm so disgusted when I hear that someones voting for McCain because they think it'll be "cool" to have a woman in office. Just as upsetting when I hear someone is voting for Obama cuz they think it'd be "cool" to have our first African American president. Don't insult the process like that! The country you live in is important, and you owe it to yourself and your future descendants to RESEARCH the issues and make an INFORMED decision!
Ok, I'm done, its 8 am on election day and I've already heard the above rationale once...hence, I'm annoyed lol
